Matter of Time (2022)

Matter of Time is about the tiny deaths that leave space for deeper realizations and awareness. We create around our soft inner selves, our hearts, as a means of survival—the artwork of our life, our stories, identity, beliefs; the shelter in which we dwell; the armor that protects us from the inevitable passing of (a version of) self. Yet, it is only with the death of the self that, through what we create, we can actually hear time’s enduring song.

Like hearing the vast and powerful ocean crashing deep inside the hollow instrument of a shell, only when we die inside our layer of protective matter can we finally hear the truth in our existence—a swirling, singing, resonating, expanding truth that transcends beyond our life, and is good for the world.

Matter of Time was created in Adobe Photoshop, where I combined original watercolor painting, writing and photos.
